Who doesn’t love a hearty bowl of chili on a crisp, fall afternoon? I think I’ll always associate chili with the day before Thanksgiving. Everyone starts rolling into town, the aunts head into the kitchen to make a big pot of chili, and the uncles and kids go straight out to the backyard for our annual Thanksgiving football game. Then at around lunch time, everyone finds a spot on the huge, wraparound front porch with a big bowl of chili and catches up on what everyone has been up to since the last family gathering.
If you ask me, what makes a great bowl of chili is the toppings! The combination of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and a handful of Fritos makes for the ultimate cheesy, creamy, gooey, crunchy treat!
Great, now I want a big bowl of chili … luckily for all of us Saturday, October 19th, is RE/MAX Gateway’s 4th Annual Chili Cookoff! Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-12, with all proceeds going to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. The Cookoff will take place at our Chantilly office (4090 B Lafayette Center Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151) from noon – 4PM.

The E4Realty Group has some serious room for improvement in the competition this year. In 2012, our team’s chili recipe took last place with a pitiful 3 votes. We feel confident that our underdog status going into this year’s Chili Cookoff will work to our benefit. So get your taste buds ready, because The E4Realty Group is in it to win it this year!
For those of you who can’t make it to the Chili Cookoff this weekend, here’s a link to one of my favorite Turkey Chili recipes from Food Network. http://www.food.com/recipe/ground-turkey-chili-for-people-who-hate-ground-turkey-79308 Don’t forget to top it off with sour cream, cheese, and Fritos!
Take care my fellow Chili Lovers!
